ALL-TERRAIN T/A KO3

<p>2025 Sierra 1500 AT4, LT285/60R18. Unfortunately it took 78 pounds of road force to balace one of the tires and 53 for another. I hhave the KO3s on a 2007 FJ Cruiser and live them on that ride. I would avoid the KO3s on most LTs. Over 50 MPH they hop, shake the steering wheel, and bounce the bed. Returning them under Michelin/BFs 30 day satisfaction policy. Switching to the Toyo Open Country AT III.</p>

<p>Amazing as expected, though costly but I have used them on the trails on my land cruiser and interesting how they can carry heavy loads, I don’t regret buying and would recommend in Kenyan Safari always go for the BFGoodrich on your terrain trails.</p>

I think I was most impressed by the fact that I changed from brand new Michelin highway terrain tyres over to the KO3, and the road noise and comfort were... basically identical. Aside from the aesthetic of these tyres (I am a proud white writing displayer), they've performed admirably. Very comfortable, very quiet, and their traction offroad is fantastic. They suffer from the same inherent limitations that are common in AT tyres as a category, eg, not amazing in the wet, and this is the one area in which I feel the KO3 might not stand up to some of the competition, but in every other category they're outstanding. We love taking these things off road and so far there hasn't been any situation they haven't been able to breeze through. We don't do any really hardcore rock crawling, but no matter the trail we're on we're confident the tyres aren't going to be what lets us down.

They took everything that I didn’t like about the KO2… noise, harshness, poor hydroplane resistance… and fixed it. The KO3 is an improvement and is a nice addition to my lifted GX470. The on-center steering is acceptable for a truck but not nimble like my Toyo ATIII. The BFG does have good handling but it feels a little slower to change direction than the Toyo. However, this thing takes the cake for braking performance… snow/dirt/street, it stops well everywhere no matter the conditions. Of course it can’t hang with a winter tire on ice because no A/T can. But, it’s a top tier choice of tire. I’m going to put the same size on LRC on my Tacoma.
