DUELER H/L 400

On 11/10/2025, I purchased a full set of Bridgestone BR2256517HD470CR tyres from Bridgestone Biggera Waters.
As a rideshare driver who spends five days a week on the road, I specifically sought what I believed would be professional advice on the most suitable tyre for this type of work. I trusted the recommendation I was given.
While I only had the initial 10,000 km tyre rotation completed by Bridgestone, my own mechanic subsequently carried out two further rotations, balancing, and wheel alignments to ensure the tyres were maintained correctly.
These tyres were fitted when my vehicle's odometer reading was 249,648 km. I was shocked when, during a recent service, my mechanic called to advise that three tyres were already at the minimum legal tread depth and the fourth was very close. My current odometer reading is 284,434 km, meaning these tyres have lasted less than 35,000 km.
I believe most people would agree that this is an appalling lifespan for a set of tyres that were specifically recommended for a high-mileage rideshare vehicle.
I am not someone who enjoys confrontation, especially given my previous experience with this business. I had taken my vehicle to them to investigate a persistent squealing noise. I was advised that the brake pads fitted elsewhere only two months earlier were of poor quality and that I should replace them with their supposedly superior Brembo Disc Pad Set Nao Ceramic pads, which I did.
Unfortunately, the squealing noise remained. I was then told the issue was likely the wheel bearings. Seeking a second opinion, I took the vehicle elsewhere and discovered the actual cause was a cover plate rubbing on an aluminium differential housing near the tailshaft connection.
Based on my experiences with both the tyre recommendation and the misdiagnosis of the squealing issue, my advice to anyone considering this business is simple:
LOOK ELSEWHERE.

60000k of mostly urban driving and have been good tyres with no complaints

OEM on a 2015 Subaru Forester Touring. Wear-bar showing at 52K mi. Rotated every season while I use my studded winter tire setup. They became a harsher and noisier ride as the tread worn down. Think I'll try a high quality all-season tire next that has a 70K mi warranty, rather than this summer tire. These Duelers did okay for OEM and have been reliable even in very mild winter snow conditions before I switch to my studded tire setup.

The Bridgestone Dueler HL tires came standard with my wife's 2018 Subaru Forester Touring SUV. Most of the reading that I have done online indicates that these tires are good for about 30K to 40K miles. My wife's tires now have 75K on them and still have a few more thousand miles of life on them. She drives both in town and on the highway. Maybe we were just lucky with the particular Duelers that came with the car. I will be going with Consumer Reports' recommendations at the time to replace the tires.

I would not recommend this tire, I used Dueler H/L 400 on my Toyota Highlander and they worn out around 25K miles and now I need replace all the four tires again.
