The manufacturer adds a stiffer sidewall or a grippier compound, so the response is sharper at speed and through corners. The ideal is that none of it comes out of the tyre's mileage.

<p>Tyre wear seems rather high compared to crossclimates ( original version) roughly 20% better wear from the Michelins. Road noise also rather greater than Michelin.</p><p>Not a bad tyre but not as comfortable or confidence inspiring as the Michelin were ( can't speak for cc2 or cc3)</p>
<p>Put the Premium Contact 6's on my 1997 Civic hatch. Found them for pretty cheap used with 7.5mm of tread and copped them up. Absolutely amazed, the tire is quiet, grips very well and is very soft (which I like due to the fact that softer sidewalls means it irons out the roughness of my polyurethane bushings).
Car grips almost like glue, it gives a lot of confidence when driving, especially when pushing the car.</p>
