Technical information
Focus: Standard
The largest and best-selling category, and Continental ContiPremiumContact 2 belongs to it. No single property is pushed here at the expense of the others — comfort, grip, noise and tread life keep a sensible balance. For most drivers it is the safest bet: the tyre behaves predictably in the dry and in the wet and covers a decent number of kilometres.

What owners say
Hello, I own a Dacia fitted with original tires in 205/60 R16 92H. In response to these issues of wider and taller sizes, and low profiles that create discomfort (especially on speed bumps), the driver's door frame indicates this same size and also 185/65 R15 88H. In this case, I opted for a change. If you are not often in a cold region (winter), you can choose to mount this second size in all-season tires or a set of 4 'snow' wheels for the winter period, namely 185/65..... To avoid the original low profile sizes (205/60...), you can mount 195/70 R15, which will greatly improve your flexibility, comfort, and fuel consumption. Moreover, if you compare with the 205/60 R16 on a tire equivalence chart online, you are within the accepted norms. (Also check the latest 'French Tire Standards Chart (www.tnpf.fr)' in the original tire column 205..., you will see the bold indication of the winter tire you can mount, better in grip on snow and ice, because it is LESS WIDE. However, keep in mind to respect the load and speed index, e.g., 97 T, knowing that for some passenger cars (non-sporty) you will never drive over 200 km/h! Personally, I chose the set of 4 summer tires Continental VancoContact 2 195/70R15 97T XL and for winter Michelin Alpin6 185/65 R 15 88 T 3PMSF-M+S.
The Continental Premium Contact 2 tyres were fitted to the classic (1960) 3.8 ltr Jaguar I bought just five months ago. I've since driven 1700+ miles and although I'm still learning the feel of this car and find the grip really excellent (within normal, UK legal, road use parameters)... these tyres transmit more road noise than any I've ever known (..and I've driven some very powerful cars over the past four decades). I'm sure those with a better trained ear would be able to distinguish exactly what type of road surface was being driven on, and also its state of dry/dam/wetness. The noise transmitted into the car's interior is intrusive above 55-60mph, and it is pretty awful for 70mph driving. Within 50 miles of buying - I was looking to change them, but as they are as new ..that's too big a cost value to scrap. NB. I honestly cannot say how well the grip in the wet because I presently lack the confidence to push the car even to the speed limit when it's wet. I haven't yet worked out whether that's because of the tyres not inspiring confidence, or the car's handling being unfamiliar, or whether the road noise is having a psychological impact on my judgement. Perhaps I'm used to relying on sight, hearing as well as tactile senses to know when a tyre is loosing its grip, and so because of the all around noise level - I'm missing a chunk of that feedback ? I'm driving a powerful car and although she feels sure footed in the dry, overall these tyres just don't work for me. I've ended up driving 10mph slower than in my last classic car, which had just half the bhp. I will remove and sell them, while they still have a young manufacturing date, so as to fund buying tyres where I can hear what the fuck is going on.
Fitted in October 2021 and they’ve done just over 59,000 miles on the rear of my Seat Ibiza, mainly motorway driving. They’ve worn well and are still at 4.5mm tread, with no vibration or other issues.
They’ve always felt stable and predictable in everyday use. Not the quietest tyres I’ve had, but the noise is perfectly acceptable.
Overall, I’m really pleased with how long they’ve lasted and would happily buy them again.
Had them on my superb for 6 month and fronts are just gone. Lasted for about 5k miles, which is just shocking. Had wheel alignment done right before getting these on.
I Live in A Part of South Africa where I Live near a freeway, I have a back road to go on if I am lazy to go on the freeway, But the quality of both parts are quite bad, as some have lines, road dents and patches, and also some potholes.
I bought the car with them on as brand new as a full set, The car at the time was on 35K KM's. They were really good on dry days, like they gripped and balanced the car to my disbelief sometimes, though I did not Like how not so direct the steering gets when you want a direct steer. The fuel economy on the swift was beautiful on it, and they are very strong in terms of quality, as when I was going home for a weekend off, I got a nail from just after the start of the trip, the tyre kept its composure until I passed the second toll gate, and even I hit the brake after getting the puncture, the tyre didn't shred even after I stopped, and even after patching the tyre, it kept soldiering on. braking performance on the dry was wonderful.
The cons of these tyres is the poor performance and comfort when in the rain, and also the poor braking performance when they are close to finishing, and also on a rainy day.
I had to change them, because of The past garages(all from one brand, let me not mention it) where I did alignment at always didn't want to do rotation for unknown reasons, then after a change of garage brand when seeing that the alignment wasn't eating the tyres properly, they stated it could be because the garages I previously did alignment on do not charge for rotation and they get lazy because they see a decent set of tyres, whilst they were eating the tyre from the back more than how it would normally eat from the front tyres(Front WD).
I took the front tyres to the back, then put Flkens sn832"s in front, and the performance of the falkens complimented the comfort of the contis. I changed the first pair at 72K km's then the second will be changed soon.
But These Conti's are really good for higher performance cars than mine. If you can afford to buy conti's, Buy a whole set instead of being them in two's.
