I spent a lot of time reading reviews before I pull the trigger, I wanted an all-terrain tire, that had good grip in the wet and snow, but did not kill my MPGs. The Firestone destination at2s exceeded all my expectations. The wet grip is phenomenal, better than the factory. All seasons that came with my large SUV, I was was caught in a blizzard in Western Pennsylvania recently, 12 in of snow, and for the most part I was bored having to drive real slow around other cars.
I don't drive fast enough to really comment on the dry grip, but the noise is low and I have not seen a meaningful change in my MPGs.
Only draw back is steering response is vague. Best wet traction I have had in any suv/light truck tire.
Good all round tyre, on wet or dry surface. Even good on gravel. Reasonable priced. Surprisingly high mileage on a set. (80 013 km)
My 2015, 2-wheel drive work truck came from the factory with street tires, but after nine years of suffering with poor traction, on and off road, I went for the Firestone (BF Goodrich) Destination A/T2 all-terrain tires. They are a bit stiffer than the old street tires, but they are quiet and smooth at highway speeds, work great on wet roads, and have plenty of traction on grass, mud and gravel. I use dedicated winter tires on my street car, so I can tell the truck is not as good on snow and ice, but that's not critical for the all-purpose nature of my truck
Ignoring all the issues I’ve had with have the tire installed on my wheels, I have had to replace three of my four tires and had one patched just from driving on well maintained forest service roads with nothing more the some pot holes. So if all-terrain means to you being able to go into the mountains and forest on dirt roads without having to worry about blowing out a tire I wouldn’t recommend these. They are pretty great in the snow though. I never had to chain up going over some very snowy icy passes. They also handle very well in the rain. Over all they are good tires if your not actually looking to leave the pavement more then every now and again.
