With sport tyres, grip in every situation is what decides — under hard acceleration, under braking, in the dry and in the wet. Kumho KU39 ECSTA LESPORT belongs to this group. Stability at higher speeds and precision through corners come on top of that. One thing drivers often underestimate when buying: grip comes from a softer compound, and a softer compound wears faster. Where a standard tyre covers roughly 40,000 km, a sport tyre manages about 20,000 to 30,000 km — and considerably less with a sharper driving style or a heavier, more powerful car.

What owners say
Found the wall strength to be poor. If hit a pothole or small object, tyre would bubble on the wall.
Asymmetric design on tyres gives asymmetric grip, on wet roads and Will be dangerous when braking. I've change position (outside/inside) on right side of the car,puting The mark"exterior" on The left side on all four tyres. Perfect grip! Low noise, Low consumption, good comfort.
I'm replacing these for Goodyear's F1 Asymmetric 5s all around. The Kumho were fitted to the rear by the previous owner of my TT MK2. They still have 5.5mm left after 30K miles approx so not bad but I only had the car for the last 2.5k miles. They're good on dry roads but I feel the car too light on high speed or on wet roads which is why I'm not waiting any longer to have them replaced.
I run them on a Seat Ibiza Cupra.
As as daily they are okay.
Comfort isn't really the best.
Wear is okay/good with 30k miles and they have 3mm left
Feedback is okay but nothing special. You can tell when they start to loose grip on the racetrack.
Wet grip is for sure better than dry grip. I run them twice on a trackday. They tend to overheat quite fast
Just about to replace these on the front (driven wheels) of my car. Previous owner had put them on (at what mileage I don't know)and had good tread on them at that point but I can't say how long they've lasted. Ive done just over 5k miles on them and they're at about 3mm so I've probably used them for the best part of their tread life. However, this isn't really a tyre to be recommend...wet grip is fair at best and a little better in the dry. Quite safe in aquaplaning depth water though. As with magazine tests reports found the steering to be lazy and slow with them. They're not overly noisy and not that comfy either. Definitely a numb feeling from the steering. Quite a heavy tyre as well by modern standards.
Don't think there will be many interested in a review of an old tyre design like this but for what its worth there is much better out there for the same money,,, got my eye on the new Apollo Aspire XP for much cheapness or Bridgestone Turanza T005 for a bit more dosh. In summary...not a catastrophic tyre but don't bother buying them.
