Technical information
Focus: Standard
The largest and best-selling category, and Michelin CROSSCLIMATE belongs to it. No single property is pushed here at the expense of the others — comfort, grip, noise and tread life keep a sensible balance. For most drivers it is the safest bet: the tyre behaves predictably in the dry and in the wet and covers a decent number of kilometres.

What owners say

Had these about 10 years ago when they first came out. Thought they would be better than winter tyres as more all season. Found them to be very poor, consistently lacking in grip in dry, wet and snow. Was disappointed with them in snow and ice, better than a summer tyres but much worse than a winter. In the dry summer I found them to slide with little warning and definitely less grip than a winter Michelins even in the summer, also thought they struggled with wet roads and I found them easy to aquaplane. Normally like Michelins but this is the only set of tyres I would actively avoid, very disappointed. I read lots of good reviews of later generations of the cross climate but these have put me off.

Very good overall. Very good in the dry, cold or hot (-15 to +40). Great on snow. Wet performance is mediocre at best. Aquaplaning good, but after a decent amount of wear wet braking and handling seem to have taken a big hit. For emergency braking or collision avoidance on wet are to be done with a lot of care, i have noticed a lot of tire movement when entering an intersection at higher than normal speed when asphalt was wet. On the previous summer tires (even though old) I could not see the same pattern. I would still recommend them with the exception that on wet roads extra attention is needed (more than with a regular summer/winter tyre).

I have Hankook 4S2 tyres on my other car and they are a much better all season tyre in every way, except slightly noisier. Of course, they are a newer design too.If I drove more sedately the Michelin would be fine. I would buy the Hankoook 4S2 over these every time.
The tires were very hard and started to fissure at the end of life (~50000 km, 8 years old).
The new tires are obviously softer and have more grip in every situation.
I find these tyrews to be very noisy and grip is ok but they're very expensive
