A cheap Chinese buget tyre wouldn't buy again
Fitted 4 of these to my VW Caravelle. I needed a load rating of at least 101. These were 102’s so no problem. All was well for about 6k miles and then very similar to another review on same vehicle type, started to get a vibration similar to unbalanced wheel. Very difficult to see when fitted but inner side wall just full of bubbles. 3 of the 4 tyres went like this. Would not recommend for VW Transporter based on my experience
I'm on my 2nd set of these tyres and i must say for the price thay are brilliant the price is over half what you would usually pay I won't be buying any other tyre from now on
Started having an issue with judder from nearside front on a long trip to South coast, thought I had wheel balance issue.
Took it into a local garage on my return only to find huge bulges on the inside edge of tyre, could have been nasty at 70mph plus!!!
Bought this VW Transporter with these crappy Powertrac Cityracing tyres from a V.W. dealership in Leeds which I am a little surprised about.
Having tyres changed immediately and will try sending an invoice to the V.W. dealership to cover the cost.
No option but to give bottom scores on everything for this tyre. I'm a small motor trader so I tend to see a fair few different brands and models of tyres come in, these were freshly fitted on an E53 X5 I bought in from auction.
On the drive back, the tyres felt fine - not particularly noisy, not the *worst* tyres I've ever driven on, but push the car a little and you could feel them give out pretty quickly.
However, on the journey back, I started to notice a grumble from the front left - which I assumed was a wheel bearing - until I then heard the same noise coming from the opposite corner. Got the car back to work, popped it onto the ramp, and got the joy of seeing first hand an almost continuous bulge having developed on two of the tyres, with small bulges already apparent on the other two - for context, these tyres were correctly inflated, less than a year old on DOT codes and the manufacturer paint markings were still just about visible - avoid these tyres like the plague as from reading reviews on here, this isn't the first instance of these Powertrac tyres doing something like this.
