U11 XL

<p>Added another couple hundred miles to these (fitted on auris when i bought it) as left them on given the unusually hot conditions here in the UK and i already didnt care if these melt/shred - and find the first opinion in prior review was perhaps a little overly kind. Cant seem to change the review stage from 'end of life' - although they are as far as I am concerned - I think these tyres would last a long time - like a droning dreary lecture.
I checked the pressures and they were 32 all round when the auris should be 35 on the front - so upped the fronts to 35 hoping for improvement - and discovered why they were 32psi.
Harshness and noise literally doubled. Dry lateral grip lessened noticeably (only been hot dry weather since first impressions) and tram-lining on raised white lines became actually disturbing (meaning dry weather handling is now very unsteady in all but the best conditions. It was as if they were hyper over-inflated. Front tyres screeched just giving half throttle when taking off from a junction. Tyre and road noise actually went from irritating to a horrendous distracting noise.
Dropped front pressures down to 32 again to make them bearable until they are gone - and soon. Just note: I'm a retired driver - not some boy racer. Mpg did go up from 29 - 32 avg on the very short trips I've been generally making recently.</p><p>UHP? - Horrible tyres.</p>

Damp weather ditch finders. These were fitted on second hand toyota auris sr d-cat I bought and are still at around 6mm, Only done around 200 miles so far and these have simply got to go. Mostly hot dry conditions - ideal summer driving with one wetish day (still warm - just enough rain to wet the roads) that caused some sphincter clench just going around an island at around 25mph. My old ford fusion on mitchelins goes around the island at 30 without a murmur. I think in a lessor car than the auris - I would have spun out.
In the dry and in a straight line they are OK if very noisy (sounds like wheel bearings have gone - they haven't). If you travel at the speed limit (30) around an island, easily managed by my old Ford Fusion on mitchelins, even on a dry hot day they feel about to lose it. Slightest wetness these are nothing short of a fairground ride and ideal pelvic/sphincter floor exercise.
My tame tire fitter claims the roadx all seasons are ok - well maybe - but these u11s seem a liability in anything other than a straight line on dry days with good road conditions. Cheap but nasty. Avoid if you place any value on your life and car.

Love it! For having no grip. No kidding. These low grip U11 together with ESP works wonderfully together to make the car super nimble on curvy country road. Make me feel like Mika Hakkinen driving his F1 McLaren with 2 brake pedals. Just Google "McLaren 2 brake pedals" for further information.

I bought my car with these on and very worn but as I do 5/6000 miles per year and they are not illegal we kept them .We live in Finland and the conditions are harsh at times .Now they are ready for changing as we have seperate tyres for winter ,it is September here .I do not understand the feedback on here as I used to rally drive and love nothing more than good acceleration ,we drive twisty tarmac and gravel roads and these tyres have caused me no problems at all .With 2mm of tread left I still can't get the traction control on ! I would buy them again in the blink of an eye .The downside is that they are noisy and as our profile is quite low that doesn't help . Our car is a Ford kuga 2 litre diesel 4wd so heavy enough to test them and they have been great . I am on the net now searching for them .

These came fitted on my Crossland which I bought at 17,000 miles from Arnold Clark. They looked very impressive. I think they must have been on since new. I have now driven the car for two years and it has reached 35,000 miles. Still four or five mm on the front tyres.
Not impressed. They seem passable in the dry though the car seems rather rough over bumps and noisy on some road surfaces above sixty mph. That might be largely the large diameter lower profile wheels.
My biggest gripe is the wet grip - especially at slightly low temperatures. I get nervous accelerating modestly out of roundabouts and even in straight lines. The steering easily goes very light if you are not careful. Does not inspire confidence about wet stopping distances.
I've been saying that I really should change them since shortly after I got the car.
Just noticed that the sipes have worn away around two of the blocks of tread on the front tyres - even though there is still at least 4 or 5 mm depth of tread in the main channels and the tread surface is nowhere near the wear bars. That prompted me to start looking at tyre reviews as the absence of the sipes can only make the wet grip worse.
