ESKIMO HP 2

Very good tyre that still holds on after 5 seasons and over 45.000kms. The tread is still good for another season.
Ice grip is good, snow grip is even better. Dry braking is good. In dry corners, the sidewall tends to bend to the point that you think the rim is going to touch the ground, which may give an unpleasant feeling and also a lack of security, but the car stays on its projected trajectory. Noise level is pleasant. Rubber compound is still soft to the touch even after all these years. The outer tread is prone to visual damages that look like punctures, but they are not, and they have no impact on the driving whatsoever.
Definitely gets a recommend, though i think they are more suitable for less heavier cars.

As for these tires, grip on both dry and wet surfaces isn't too bad. They hold the road decently, but they can surprise you at times when the car is at the limit of grip. Sometimes it results in significant understeering, and other times oversteering, which can be fun as the car nicely aligns for corner exit. The downside is that this happens at relatively lower speeds than initially expected. Comfort is quite satisfactory; they are a bit firmer than the Eskimo S3+. Tire wear is at expected levels, and so far, they’ve worn very little, even after covering about 19,000 km. The tires aren't too noisy, even at speeds between 130 and 140 km/h

This is initial review of mine (only 500km). I have ridden dozens of winter tires in past 30 years and have tested even more since I was working in automotive industry for 25 years.
So far haven’t tested them on snow and ice but i do on dry and wet roads 0-7C
These tires on dry road are average at best. They are wallowy and have poor lateral grip although they hold decent speeds before they start loosing grip. They are very imprecise and often need correction while in curve.
Wet performance is below average it was even worse experience than on dry roads.
I hope they will perform better on snow and ice since Sava Eskimo S3+ was better than most premium tires at those conditions.

I had used these eskimo hp2 tyres four and a half winter season. Now I am using third set of winter tyres and 4th set of summer tyres all with the same little car so i think i can compare between them properly. Since i was not so experienced driver, i had never knew that how bad a tyre could be! Because my previous winter set was the most famous french brand before eskimo hp2.
I would be pleased to say if only Eskimo HP2 have lost grip on the wet after 4 years which were already performed below an average tyre before and gripping on dry with EskimoHP2 was not better on the wet, as risky as on the wet road also braking. They are absolutely not comfortable tyres i could feel every gravel on the surface.
But not only these, we also match the snow. I went to a place on a dry cold night and it start snowing when i was coming back. On the main street 3 or 4 lanes, with almost an empty traffic luckly, i realize that it was hard to maneuver or braking like as using summer tyres. That night... oh that night my fellas.. i had not had an accident.
The main reason about these EskimoHP2, motivates me to write all of these, that night my snow experience was not after 4 years of usage, only a few weeks after i start using them..
