With sport tyres, grip in every situation is what decides — under hard acceleration, under braking, in the dry and in the wet. Windforce CATCHFORS UHP PRO belongs to this group. Stability at higher speeds and precision through corners come on top of that. One thing drivers often underestimate when buying: grip comes from a softer compound, and a softer compound wears faster. Where a standard tyre covers roughly 40,000 km, a sport tyre manages about 20,000 to 30,000 km — and considerably less with a sharper driving style or a heavier, more powerful car.

What owners say
Bought an XF with new tyres on it hadn't heard of them but as I had bought the car in Spring, my thought was keep them on and if poor in wet ( not many tyres nowadays are dangerous in dry) can change them in winter. All I can say is that I find them no worse than Kumho, Hankook, Landsail and any number of medium/budget brands till now. I have only had car for 7 months and probably about 4k mls but I won't be changing them. I have given 6's for most qualities mainly because the tyre's are not Michelin/Goodyear quality but subjectively some of those could be 7's. Would I buy them again? not sure that will depend on how long they last, price and how they perform as they wear. Last word is I drive the car and don't even think about the tyre's except when checking pressure
