V105

<p>OE tyre supplied on MX5 ND 1.5.
Steering feedback was really good as well as dry grip, but please note that the car was at 6000 miles (10000km) when i purchased it so i don't really now how these V105 performs when they are new
Dry grip on spring-summer days was very good, but these tyres loves to have a little bit of heat in them to perform accordingly
I did one track session and they held up well, no roll over, sidewall is pretty firm for an UHP tyre. When they let go, they start to squeal a little bit and you can feel the limit without them being snappy or dangerous. Really enjoyable behavior
Of course it's not a dedicated track tyre but they are fun if you just want to enjoy your car without being too serious/competitive about it</p><p>Wet grip is average and not really on par with modern UHP tyres (think PS5 or GYA6) but it is kinda expected, these tyres have been released a long time ago now.
Wet grip is acceptable if you drive according to weather and road condition, but they do not feel to have a lot of safety margin
They can be a little bit jiggly on poor roads but not that bad overall</p><p>At the end of their life (more or less 2,5mm) , dry grip was still very good but wet performance started to become a little bit sketchy despite temperature being around 20°C. I lost the car twice, one time on a big puddle and one time just accelerating straight without being reckless so i throw them away after that</p><p>Can't comment on winter use cause i have dédicated winter tyres but i guess they should not be that great</p><p>Mileage done : 16000 miles or 25000km with one rotation front to back done</p><p>In short : very good dry grip, sharp steering response, wet behavior is average at 50% of their life and pretty bad at the end</p><p>Will buy again because 16' tyre size suck and it will not get better</p>

Only tyres I've had on the car so not able to compare against others. These tyres have been very good I've been impressed first time experiencing Yokohama. They have been good in dry, wet, hot and cold. Only complaint was in snow, they were terrible, in fact my worst snow driving experience ever. I believe it was the tyres not not car for reason performed so poorly in snow.

I’m very happy with these tires — I think they’re the only model I’ve ever bought more than once. Previously, for comparison, I had the Michelin PS4, which I found to be good only during the first half of their life. After that, their performance dropped off significantly.
These tires have great dry grip. They do need a bit of heat to work well, but this is only really noticeable in winter. I like that they are not easy to overheat and don’t lose performance even on twisty roads as the kilometers add up. The sidewall is stiff, and the steering response is precise.
I can’t comment on wet grip because it hardly ever rains in my area, and when it does, I drive more cautiously.
These tires offer a “good life” — and by that I don’t just mean longevity, but also that the grip loss as the tread wears down is very gradual and predictable.
On the downside, they are a bit harsh over bumps, but that’s about it.

Had these for a few years now on a Astra 1.9 SRi XP, I would not recommend them at all, ok in the dry but they are ditch finders in the wet, the previous tyres were cheap Nexus ones and were far better in the wet, I hit a roundabout at about 20mph and the back flipped around, if it wasn't for the Eagle F1s on the front holding the grip I would have hit the kerb, not great for the 18in pentas.
One now has a strange worn out patch about 2in round on just half the tyre tread which is bald, never seen anything like it, its like there is a bulge on the tread face, the rest of the tyre has 2-3mm of tread.

These tyres replaced a set of Uniroyal Rainsport 5's, that replaced a set of Pirelli P7 Cinturato's. I wasn't a fan of the Pirelli's as they wore out after 20K miles. The Rainsport's lasted 30K miles and these will do well to make it to 16K miles. Don't get me wrong, the grip in the dry is great, but in the wet, it's awful. If I was reviewing these tyres in the dry only, they would be scoring 7/8 in the feedback and handling. The contrast between wet and dry is night and day. I would not buy these tyres again.
