Tire Rack 2025: 275/35 R19 Summer Tire Test on BMW M2
As part of its ambitious plan to test more tires than ever before, Tire Rack has published a test of the eleven most popular summer tires in the 275/35 R19 size. The tests were conducted on the new BMW M2, providing a realistic look at the tires' performance in sporty driving.
The test evaluated dry and wet braking distances, handling, ride comfort and stability, providing detailed information for drivers looking for reliable and high-performance summer tires 2025 .
OE vs aftermarket: BMW M2 and Michelin Pilot Sport 4S
The original OE tire for the BMW M2 – Michelin Pilot Sport 4S* – was also an interesting part of the Tire Rack 275/35 R19 summer tire test. OE tires are often tuned specifically for a specific vehicle model, which affects comfort, noise, steering response and grip.
- The OE PS4S* was harsher, noisier and harder to ride, but offered sharper steering, better dry lap times and slightly shorter braking distances .
- Wet Road : The OE version felt more precise and confident at the edge of grip, although both variants showed a tendency to overheat at the limit.
- Competition : It was overtaken in wet conditions and overall comfort by new tires like the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6, Continental ExtremeContact Sport 02, and Kumho Ecsta Sport S.
