The largest and best-selling category, and Falken AZENIS FK520 belongs to it. No single property is pushed here at the expense of the others — comfort, grip, noise and tread life keep a sensible balance. For most drivers it is the safest bet: the tyre behaves predictably in the dry and in the wet and covers a decent number of kilometres.

<p>After the 2nd season the dry grip deteriorated a lot, you should be very careful when accelerating from a corner, otherwise the ESP will intervene. I am considering to throw it away after this 3rd season, despite the low mileage (15 000 km) and wear.</p>
<p>I got these tires with the car I purchased. They weren't my choice — I wanted Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6, but there was no option to choose the tires when ordering the car.</p><p>At first, I thought they weren't that bad. It could have been worse — I could have ended up with Nexens. I read some reviews and test results and thought, "Okay, these seem like pretty decent tires, it shouldn't be too bad."</p><p>Unfortunately, the trouble-free period lasted only about 900 km in 2024, after I picked up the car from the dealership in the autumn.</p><p>In spring 2025, after switching back to these tires, I went to have the wheel alignment checked. The technician actually told me he felt sorry for me because I had to drive on these tires — that's how noisy they were.</p><p>I thought, okay, I'll have them road-force balanced and properly set up, and everything should be fine.</p><p>Well, it wasn't.</p><p>I measured 60–75 N of radial force variation. The noise starts becoming noticeable at around 110 km/h and gets progressively worse up to 140 km/h. The wheels themselves are perfectly fine, and there is simply no way to eliminate this level of radial force variation through balancing.</p><p>I filed a warranty claim with Audi. They performed a test drive, but only around town. Despite my requests to take the car onto the highway, they rejected the claim.</p><p>I then filed a complaint with Audi Poland, but that didn't help either. They sided with the dealership, saying that the dealership has the means to verify the tires and that they trust their authorized partners.</p><p>But the noise isn't the only problem.</p><p>These tires are definitely not what I would call UHP tires. They provide absolutely no feedback through the steering wheel. Zero.</p><p>But that's still not the worst part. They really don't cope with standing water.</p><p>When there is standing water on the road, I wouldn't feel comfortable driving faster than around 80 km/h, even on a highway. The tires also spin easily when pulling away from a standstill. Interestingly, they don't have the same problem in the rain when there isn't standing water.</p><p>On dry pavement, the grip is actually okay — I'd even say quite good. However, I cannot recommend these tires because, for me, their behavior in standing water completely disqualifies them. I've driven on many other tires (Michelin Primacy HP, Michelin Primacy HP, Avon ZV5, Hankook Ventus Prime 3, Uniroyal Rainexpert) and have never experienced similar issues.</p><p>As for progression when losing grip, they do give you some warning before they start to let go, at least in wet conditions. But having to stay below around 70 km/h to feel comfortable in those conditions is simply not good enough for a UHP tire in the 21st century.</p><p>As for wear, it's acceptable and I have no major complaints. However, after the first 5,000 km, the tread depth dropped by as much as 2 mm, which is quite a lot. After that, though, the rate of wear seems to have slowed down.</p><p>One more positive thing I forgot to mention: after two years, the tires have shown no signs of cracking or dry rot.</p>
<p>Prior to these Falken FK520, I had Michelin primacy3, and they where always loud. God but loud. These are still quiet, normaly tires get louder when older, Will see how they turn out.
These tires perform very well in basically every condition, higway/autobahn from Sweden to Italy, through the Austrian alps, on Italian dirt roads in Sarteano, as well as in 40c on aoutobahn, impressed.
Drivning a heavy w213, the wear has been very ok, the rear is wearing faster than the front, wich is normal on a rwd. Tire sides a strong enough for a heavy car.
I can recomend these tires for everyone, who dares to be diffrent and not buy tires that makes the most commercial. These are realy good value for money, I tried them up to 175km/h, steady as a rock.
So if you have a Merc,w213, these will be a perfect match.</p>
<p>Good strong grip in the dry with predictable breakaway at the very limit. Safe handling, stopping and corning when driving normally in the wet. Progressive feedback and controllable at the limit, no major dramas. Comfortable, quiet and a well balanced tyre. Not expected to match Goodyear Eagle F1 Asym 6 for longevity. This is not a track day tyre.</p>
<p>Solid tyres. Had some geometry problems so the shoulders have taken a bit of a beating and it's evident getting into the wetter months. Would always recommend however as prior to this I've never had any problems with wear. Very progressive at the limit. You can feel the slip before it truly gives way.</p>
