Technical information
Focus: Standard
The largest and best-selling category, and Kleber KRISALP HP3 belongs to it. No single property is pushed here at the expense of the others — comfort, grip, noise and tread life keep a sensible balance. For most drivers it is the safest bet: the tyre behaves predictably in the dry and in the wet and covers a decent number of kilometres.

What owners say
I've used these tires on four different cars / four different sizes in the span of 9 years. These are a powerhouse in the snow, I've never had any problem or wheel spin no matter 4x4 or FWD. They are excellent in the wet and I've never felt unsafe. Very good comfort and good wear. The reason I always buy again is because of safety - they are #1 on snow in pretty much every test, beating Michelin and Continental over and over again; they are always #1 or #2 in aquaplaning; they are always in the top for low noise, which matters to me. In the dry almost all tires perform adequate, but the hidden dangers lurk on snow and wet roads. So I don't need it to be top on dry, but I appreciate being safe when the risks are highest. Also, the compound is a bit softer than the rest, so if you store them correctly it will remain soft for many winters, it will take more seasons to have to replace them. Now the negative - the sidewall is rather thin and flexible, so with a higher tire you will eventually get some roll when hard cornering. My SUV's top speed is 165km/h so it doesn't matter to me, but if you drive sporty, look at low tires or at another model like Hankook icept evo 3, as this will inevitably affect handling precision and overall feel.
First thing I noticed at this tyres is "jelly-like" move, the car it feels like a boat, horrible feeling. I don't care so much of the winter capabilities wich is ok, good grip in all condition but man... the sensation of boat is very bad, for me...
I never buy again, i changed at mid of life with a set of bomb proof Debica Frigo HP2, that is good but loudly an the fuel milleage is slightly bigger, but a very good tyre.
Not a bad tyre, it handles pretty good difficult conditions
Good tires for moderate driving in cold conditions, I have taken them in snow and icy mountain drives. The tread pattern is good, I've had no issue with them, they have enough grip, no slipping or sliding when taking off or cornering in snowy conditions, but my car is AWD and I drive carefully in such conditions. In wet conditions tire also perfroms well, fair aquaplaning capability, adequate grip, no issues. Everything is good up to the moment you start driving hard - you can tell these tires are not meant for speed. I only push my AWD car in dry conditions and let me tell you I was sliding all over the place, also weak braking capability. I dont want to imagine driving this tire hard in cold conditions. JUST DONT DRIVE HARD AND YOU WONT HAVE ANY PROBLEMS.
My fifth consecutive winter on this set of tyres, and the Kleber are often competitive performers in their own right in smaller sizes and higher profiles. Decent feedback throughout the operating spectrum, I've always sensed the limits and never felt I don't know what's going on. Dry cornering grip swiftly washes out in higher temperatures -- it is a winter tyre after all (a few comments on this at the end). Otherwise, in its operating range it is utterly predictable in normal driving and progressive in its tendency to understeer. In the wet, well tested this winter, it's agile and grippy, resisting aquaplaning very well particularly in corners. A question mark over straight line performance in big puddles as it has worn, more cautious. Braking - well in all the above, as I don't seem to have tested its limits so far, thankfully. Not even one ABS shudder. Snow, mainly fresh or slushy, very good grip and handling. Less experience of durably packed sub-zero snow over these years, even at higher altitude.
This brings me to my comment. My natural environment for the past three decades has largely been subalpine, and within a handful of kms in all directions winter tyres are compulsory. And yes, in practice they have been a must. Even with the noticeable impact of changing climate a grippier tyre in winter remains essential because of the risk of a sudden if short-lived return of snowfall just when you're out there. Firstly, this tyre has been my faithful and robust workhorse, coping with the associated crud like mud streams, fallen branches, rocks and stones, and holes that are now more frequently found on 'warmer' but wet alpine roads, and without warning. It's kept me and my car safe.
Secondly, I'll be moving shortly but will still be around these parts in winter. I'm wondering if my winter swap won't be to an all-seasons tyre (I value summer tyres in summer). I'd like to see more testing of all tyres at or beyond the upper extremes of their temperature ranges (eg. 10-17°C and 32-45°C - these have been my realities for the last decade).
No comment on wear - difficult to judge through the low mileage Covid years, plus tyres make immense progress in the time that I keep a set. One final comment: in general, I've had better experiences with smaller cars on winter tyres.
