No single property is pushed here at the expense of the others — comfort, grip, noise and tread life keep a sensible balance. Let me add my impressions. I bought a new car and urgently needed new winter tires, on steel rims, December 2024. Skoda Scala 1.5 evo2Tsi 150HP. Since I have had many years of experience with winter Viking Wintech tires, I decided on this group again. The choice is always good with Czech-Slovak brands from Continental.
Dry handling - very good.
In the wet, everything is fine, then I don't even drive on the border.
There was hardly any snow this winter, but they were ok even then (I live exactly on the border between Hungary and Serbia).
The tire is soft and quiet, the ride is comfortable. Almost identical to premium brands in everything.
The car handles well, consumption is extremely decent. No wear for now, I made about 4000 km so far with them.
205-55-R16 91H is in question. I am satisfied. I think this type of tire is still the best value for money. So, in conclusion, I will always stick to these brands: Matador,Barum,Viking for as my choice for winter.
Immediately after installation, it impressed me because it is almost noiseless on dry roads at all speeds. Soft tire like a premium brand and yet excellent response in maneuvers. Low fuel consumption, I tested it as in the factory test. I did not drive on snow and ice because there is none for now.
This is my first winter using the Matador Nordica tires, and I’ve driven over 10,000 km (6,000+ miles) in various conditions—wet, snowy, and dry. In my opinion, they’ve performed very well.
The handling feels solid, and I get good feedback from the road. The fuel economy is also impressive, and the tire noise is not bad. Most of the noise I notice comes from aerodynamics rather than the tires themselves.
I’ve had a few emergency braking situations, and fortunately, the tires stopped in time every time. Of course, a key factor in such situations is the driver’s reactions.
Overall, I can confidently recommend these tires. If you’re a responsible driver who doesn’t push the limits of physics, you can fully rely on them. However, I can’t comment on their wear yet, as this is still my first season with them.
For the price, I think they’re an excellent choice.
Tyres are ideal for everyday using in cities or motorway too. Pleasant handling and feedback, quite, good ride at all types roads ( wet, dry, ice ) .Comfortable ride because material of tyres is not hard. Problably for use 2 or 3 winter season ( or 25000km) We will see....
I don't know how will they last or keep their performance in coming years but initially they perform and feel like a true premium winter tyre. Most mid grade or budget winters does well in snow and ice conditions (MP93 is no exception, especially amazing in terms of lateral snow grip) but this one excels in wet and dry conditions as well. Steering feel and road feedback is surprisingly good for a thick sidewall snow tyre, very strong cold try tarmac grip, they just grip and go. They also give confidence on wet, there is no unusual reaction even in sudden movements or braking. The sidewall of the tire is a little too stiff, which is probably why the steering is sharp and sensitive despite of the relatively large sidewall (205/60R16).. For the price, they are simply amazing, strongly recommended.
