<p>I'm not the biggest fan of these tires. I got them lightly used when I bought the car. While they still have good tread life on them they just fall short on what I want in this type of tire which is something that focuses more on dry handling with good feedback and does well on the line with relatively good wet traction. Wet traction is not great and I understeer and hypdroplane quite easily even in small amounts of rain. They handle okay in the dry but they don't handle linear and will drop off straight into understeer with no buffer really at all. Compared to other tires I've used such as the Continental DWS06+ or Good year eagle Asymmetric 5 they don't do anything that stands out particularly well.</p>
When i bought my Kia Stinger GT it had the factory mounted Michelin Pilot sport tyres on it. Thise where ok. But i wanted somthing more grippy and less expensive. I had the Nitto nt888 before on my well tuned Opel Adam Rocks S. So i searched for a adequate Nitto tyre for the extremely heavy Stinger. In Switzerland it is very hard to find Nittos. The only one i found in my desired dimensions wherer the NT555 g2's front 235/35R19 rear 265/30R19. I think, with Nittos you can't do anything wrong. They are better than the Michelins when cold. Up to temp, way better. I drive often in the black forest and the swiss alps. And I don't drive slow. Those tyres are incredible.
These tires perform best when you can get them hot. Under 60 degrees (F) they are noticeably slicker, I only run these tires in the late spring and summer. These tires have a fairly rigid sidewall so don't expect them to ride like a grand touring tire. The amount of feedback in the tire is pretty good. I found these tires like to pull the car into the ruts of the road. I get the tires spinning pretty often at intersections and in parking lots and so far haven't had any excess wear or chunking issues. You can get away with the speed limit in light rain, but in moderate and heavy rain you will be going at least 5-10 mph under the posted speed. Expect the rear end to slide out often and expect fairly long stopping distances in the wet.
These came with my car so I'm reviewing them in used condition, but tread life etc. appeared fine when received. They perform ok in the dry at high temperatures, so I would say they are acceptable as summer tires depending on pricing etc. In cold or rainy weather they don't do well, and I would avoid driving on them in cold, rainy weather especially. Car starting sliding on the highway today with them despite driving carefully (rear slide out at about 90mph going uphill in 40F, drizzly weather).
