WINTRAC PRO

Very good tires for winter. Used in upstate New York from November to April. Great grip even in -15 F. Started to get a little vague when it was dry around 65F.

I drove this tire on an Alpina D3 F31 Bi-Turbo Touring Allrad. It's a good tire in dry conditions, and especially impressive in the wet. I’ve never had a winter tire with such strong wet grip — it even rivals some summer tires. However, I was disappointed with its lateral grip on snow and ice. Everything else was good. Wear was acceptable, but due to the camber of my car, the tires wore down excessively on the inside — to the point where they tore and the internal reinforcement material became visible on the rear tires. I won’t be buying them again, mainly because of that issue and the lack of lateral grip.

I mostly use the car for long jouneys, so I was looking for a winter tyre that provides safety not only on snow and ice, but also on dry and damp roads. Snow became a rare appearance in the last years, so dry and wet performance is really important in winter tyres. I have to say the reviews I read here helped my decision, and also I found the Vredestein tyres at a really good price. They have an amazing amount of grip on snowy and icy roads, they really inspire confidence. On the dry they feel better compared to my factory fitted Continental Eco Contact 6 summer tyres. Maybe on wet roads things could be better, but still it's a safe tyre. Wear seems to be extremely good, this is my 3rd winter, approximately 30.000 kms and they still have a lot of tread. So very good value for money, I definitely reccomend the Wintrac Pro.

Very good deal, performance is really good in the dry and wet, clear feel of road feedback. In fresh snow, 10-15cm deep, they tend to struggle a bit when starting from a complete stop or on a hill, but as soon they are rolling the snow traction is really good.

Very nice tires from Vredestein! Got them as partially worn with 7.0mm front and 7.7mm back. Installed them a little late (end of November in The Netherlands, average temp. was 5°C), and there was a noticeable difference compared to the factory Conti's. First, the rolling resistance is very high on these, went from 23km per litre to no higher than 18km per litre. The grip in the cold wet is very nice, never had a doubt. Dry is OK for a Winter tire, they like to squeal in hard dry corners between 7° and 15°c. Took them off end of April, and the wear is very good, about 0.9mm front worn off and 0.4 back, in about 4000 miles with occasionally testing the limits in the corners. Sound is noticeable, but not annoying. No snow or ice as we had a very mild winter. Recommended as a slightly cheaper option in expensive sizes.
